Fine-line tattoos · Colombo
Delicate single-needle tattoos, designed with an honest eye for how fine lines heal and age.
The craft
Fine-line tattooing uses the smallest needle groupings and a slow, steady hand to create delicate botanicals, script, small symbols and micro detail. Done well, it looks drawn rather than tattooed.
Roshan designs every fine-line piece around how it will look once healed, not just on the day, and plans spacing so the lines stay crisp for years.

Every piece below was drawn for its owner. The label on each photo tells you whether it is fresh or healed.

The artist's specialism
“Fine-line is the least forgiving style there is. There is nowhere to hide a shaky line, so I work slowly, stretch the skin properly and design with enough space between lines for them to soften gracefully.”
Single-needle botanicals, delicate script, constellations, small portraits of pets and loved ones, and fine ornamental work.
Realistic limitations
We would rather tell you now than disappoint you in five years.
i.
Very small designs with tight detail blur together as the skin ages. We will suggest the smallest size that will still read clearly in ten years.
ii.
Fingers, palms, the sides of the feet and lips regenerate quickly, so fine lines there fade or spread. We will say so honestly.
iii.
All tattoos settle. Fine lines are designed with that in mind: open spacing, no tiny closed shapes, no fragile gradients.
iv.
Fine work sometimes needs a second pass once healed. Your free healed check covers it.
Questions
It depends on the detail. A simple symbol can be tiny; script and botanicals need more room. We will recommend the smallest size that will stay legible as it heals and ages.
All tattoos soften with time. Fine lines are planned with open spacing so they age gracefully, and your free healed check includes a touch-up if needed.
Forearms, upper arms, collarbones, ribs, ankles and the back of the neck hold fine lines well. Fingers, palms and feet fade quickly.
Most small pieces take one to two hours including the final stencil check; larger compositions may need more.
