The assessment

Honest answers first

Send us clear photos of the tattoo in daylight, with something for scale. Roshan will tell you what can realistically be done before you commit to anything.

i.

Photos and assessment

Daylight photos and a short description of what you would like instead.

ii.

Honest options

A full cover-up, a rework of the existing piece, or a few laser sessions first: we explain each, with pros and cons.

iii.

A new design

Roshan draws over a photo of your tattoo so you can see exactly how it will be hidden.

iv.

Sessions and healing

Cover-ups often take more than one session. You will know the plan before you start.

Limitations

What a cover-up can do

Knowing the limits is what makes a good cover-up possible.

i.

Darker and larger

A cover-up has to be darker and usually larger than the old tattoo. We will show you how much bigger before anything is decided.

ii.

Some ink needs lightening first

Very dark or heavy tattoos may need a few laser sessions first. We will tell you honestly if that is the better route.

iii.

Not every design can hide anything

Pale colours and open fine-line designs cannot cover dense black. We design around what will actually work.

iv.

A rework can be the answer

Sometimes the best result is to restore and strengthen the old piece rather than hide it.

Questions

Cover-up FAQ

Most can, but not always with the design you first imagine. The new piece has to be darker and usually larger. Very dark tattoos may need laser lightening first.

It depends on the old tattoo. Typically one and a half to two times the size. Roshan will show you on a photo before you decide.

Yes. Restoring linework, deepening shading and adding detail can bring an old piece back to life without hiding it.

Small cover-ups can be done in one sitting; larger ones usually need two or more, with healing time in between.
